Boutique By Jaime wishlist

Pretty much this week i have been obsessed with two amazing and beautiful things : Janoskians and Boutique By Jaime.

I was searching everywhere for a brand that did jewellery that was at a high quality, good pricing and also pieces that everyone would envy. One night i came across Boutique By Jaime

Boutique by Jaime offers a wide variety of pieces ranging from charm bracelets, bangles, chain drop earrings to tassel necklaces. The beautyful made pieces range from £18 to £120, the prices may be high however even by looking at the pictures only you can say to yourself that they will last a long time and will be unique. Here is my favorite which i have added to my wishlist -

Rose Gold Heart Necklace
The necklace is made from rose gold which i love.  The heart on the necklace is a good size as i tend to heart ones which the heart is nearly in your face however the sizing of the heart has been carefully thought about. I love the little detailing to the necklace with the size oval with the brands name.

Diamante Hand Charm Necklace Gold
I have always love the Hamsa Charm bracelets that you can find. The charm is so delightful looking with the use of diamantes which have not been overused to where you get the over the top not nice look. I love how it has a chain instead of the usual wax coated chord as with the use of the chain i know it will last longer and also add more to the look.

Rosebox Bridal - Sunflower Floral Headband

Ever think to yourself of what you are going to wear to a festival or some event where everything goes? Plan that perfect outfit but need something that will make it POP? Floral headbands have been around for a few years with celebrities such as pixie lott wearing the trend. The headband or crowns are more popular with the general public with many shops selling a bog standard one that is over priced however unique handmade shops such as Rosebox bridal have released their latest collection using a range of colours and flowers.

the headbands are unique and handmade with designs where the flowers are to the side, middle or along. The headband is to a higher standard as the band is made from a metal instead of the usual high street elastic. The flowers used at also not the cheap type that fall apart after a few wears.the price of the headbands range from £10 upwards depending on style which i think the price if fab.

These can be brought from Facebook or Etsy

The Ugly Side of Beauty - beauty pageants

I remember when i first fell in love, i was watching 'Miss Congeniality' and i thought wow. Even though the movie was not all about the pageants but that little insight made me go wow. Fast forward 10 years and you find not only young adult pageants but pageants for all ages.

The popularity has led to many documentaries and also TV shows following the beauties such as 'Toddlers and Tiara's'. With more coverage it has led to more anger towards the competitions especially to the younger entries.

Child pageants has contestants aged up to 18 years old. There are two types glitz and natural - glitz being the more make-up one.  categories may include talentinterviewsportswear, casual wear, swim wear and also theme wear.

In Glitz pageants,  Big hair (including fake hair), flawless makeup, spray tans, flippers (fake teeth) and nail extensions are expected of contestants with routines such as 'sassy walk'. Natural pageants have strict rules regarding clothing, makeup, hair extensions, etc. They may forbid any makeup other than non-shiny lipgloss and mascara for girls on stage

Pageants also have been criticized for the sexualization of young children with the use of make-up, bikinis, routines and also how the child is told to act.

However after many of the child have finished their 'performance' the simply go back to being children with nay not allowed to wear make-up outside of pageants.

Pageants can earn thousands of pounds however many will not earn money as the prize money would only just pay for the cost to enter.

Soak Yourself Rose blossom soap

At first i thought the price of the soap was at bit pricey at £4.95 however the soap leaves a strong yet delightful smell once used. The product is wrapped in (i think) cotton bag tied with yellow satin ribbon  Each soap also has been tied too with a yellow ribbon to add to the cuteness.

The soap has the smell of roses and i found the design so cute as it had the colours of what roses look like when pressed so the name itself is all over the product.

Other soaps and gift boxes can be brought from SOAK yourself

(i cannot link this soap to the online product as it is not online. PR sample)

I opened the box to find a beautiful bracelet that has been made from mint seed beads on one half and the other half made from gold chain which a added star. The bracelet has a lobster clasp for security.

The bracelet retail at £9.14. The colour is amazing and pastels are everywhere on the high street  Think of how expensive friendship bracelets can be and everyone has one. However the bracelets are unique that not everyone will own. This delightful bracelet is one of my favorite pieces i own which is now added to my everyday jewelry. Benefit Primpcess travel set

Sadly the kit has been discounted as it was limited to duty free. The kit basically creates a light daytime smokey eye but also can be worn as night makeup.

The kit comes with :

The colour is more a dark champagne that leave a shimmer on your eyelid. It is to be used as the base colour and also helps to create a ceaseless eye lid. The cream is very light on the eye and glides on effortless. The size of the pot is the normal sample size however not much product is needed.

I have had this before in another Benefit product and i hated how clumpy my eye lashes went. They all stick together and pull them down like i was asleep however i found it is not as bad. I found putting it on very gently it does not give the clump of eyelashes in the middle. I try not to put it on after it has dried also.

The kit also contain 5 other things. It contained a concealer but i found it was too orange and didn't blend in. Also The eye bright did not make my eye brighter, it would not apply to to finger as it was quite tough and pulley  The shadows where very nice as they where matte which had a strong pigment but still could be blended. The kit also came with instructions of how to create the look. Overall i found it was a nice kit as you could still create the look without the other things.

Soap and Glory Sugar Crush

I love the feeling you get when you use scrubs. I feel like a whole new me and that i am glowing with the fact i have 'new' skin. Another scrub that i have added to my collection is Soap & Glory's Sugar Crush.

Can be brought from Boots for £8 for 300ml

The product remain me of 'The Breakfast Scrub' and 'Flake Away' as it has the same feeling of flake away but also looks a lot like the breakfast scrub. However it does not contain the same ingredients such as oats and Shea butter.

The texture to the product is a thick flaky feel. It applies to your body easily and rubs in (it doesn't rub in completely as its not cream). I use my hand to exfoliate the skin then using warm water (boiling hot in my case) rising the remains away.

The smell of the product is a nice fruity smell that is very strong in the jar but when rinsed off your skin its not as strong but still makes you feel squeaky clean.

The price is good as if you think 'The Righteous Butter' £3 more but you still get the same amount

Boots have 3 for 2 on all soap and glory products

The Ugly Side Of Beauty - Thyroid Disease Part 2

Someone with Thyroid disease can have Hypo or hyper. hypo means that the thyroid does not produce enough or nay while hyper means too much is being produced. Your thyroid is located in your neck. it is a special gland that produces a hormone that are called T4 or thyroxine and T3 or triiodothyronine. These hormones control how fast or how slow the body uses the energy produced. (Wow so much learning its like being in school)

You cant catch it but can be inherited from a family member e.g 3 people in my family have it. Also it can be lack of iodine/iron in your diet.

  • Symptoms of hypo are:
  • extreme tiredness
  • weight gain, but with a poor appetite
  • feeling the cold easily
  • dry and/or pale skin
  • coarse, thinning hair and brittle nails
  • weak and sore muscles
  • a hoarse, croaky or deeper voice
  • puffy eyes
  • memory loss and poor concentration
  • constipation
  • heavy, irregular or prolonged menstrual periods, if you’re a woman
  • tingling in your hands and arms
  • depression

symptoms if hyper are:
  • hyperactivity
  • anxiety, irritability and nervousness
  • difficulty sleeping
  • feeling tired all the time (fatigue)
  • muscle weakness
  • diarrhoea
  • sensitivity to heat and excess sweating
  • unexplained or unexpected weight loss,
  • very infrequent or light periods, or periods stopping altogether
  • infertility

Another symptom is a goiter which means your gland is enlarged.

In my case i ticked yes to most of the hypo and also as i had been living with it for 4 years unaware i had put allot of weight on.

if you too match most of these i advise you to get tested - you have a blood test and then a thyroid screening which is a ultrasound on the gland. Even if you are afraid of needles it will help you.

When you are diagnosed you are given tablets if you have hypo: levothyroxine, hyper: antithyroid. some take it for life while others take it for a period of time. My self i will have to take it for left with blood tests every 6 months to monitor it.

* i am not a doctor or any sort this is what i have learnt through research and i have nothing to do with what you do when reading this information, i just advise you to see a real doctor with queries*

To all them who are in school

Currently i am in the last year of my secondary education just before i go to higher education. i am in the midst of revising for 7 exams to complete my gcses. What is my point of this? i am just advising you before you get to my point of life.

Remember the times when your mum and dad would nag at you to work hard and not mess around? i certainly do. I would argue with my mum mostly with this, she would say you have got a high IQ but i still had dyslexia (This might not make sense to some - sometimes myself) Don't get me wrong i am not a 'naughty' kid, i did my work - i handed it in. I am not the clever one in my year or even one of them. I struggle along with my 'c's and 'b's with people getting upset about getting an 'a' instead of a 'a*' - me thinking well i wonder what they think about my mark? I am not saying those results are bad but when you are around higher marks you feel like the worse.

I realized last year in summer before results day that i should of tired harder in year 7 & 8, even though they were ages from my gcses but things that i learnt then does come back up. i just recommend to my younger readers just think about what you are doing now and not what you are going to do.

With regards to friends, forget arguing all the time. Say what you want to see then just don't talk to them again. That's what i did(nearly 4 years and counting). If they were really your best friend they will come back to you, if not just let them go. You'll find someone better. Don't argue over boys either, they want you to argue not caring about your friendship.

Just be yourself, don't care about what everyone else thinks. Do your hair and makeup how YOU want, Dress how You want. Just be YOU.

La Tweez Professional illuminating tweezers

I travel every year mostly twice so i tend to buy a lot of things in duty free and on the plane as i just love the cheap products (post about duty free soon).

About 2 years ago i wanted my own tweezers that were very good to use but also looked nice. Before i owned a pair i loved i used these cute doll looking ones that were very cheap (£2) but where very good at doing their job. I got these lovelies -

Can be bought from John Lewis for £15

I bought these for £12 on the plane and the ones that can be brought in the shops now have a red stone instead of sliver as mine are the year before and are £3 more.

i found these to be very good as they plucked my eyebrows very quickly without the horrid tugging  - don't get me wrong, i'm not saying it was pain free but it was not as painful. the tweezers came in a white box and a container which had a circular tube that the tweezers went in and also had a mirror.

The tweezers are 'illuminating' however i find the light is pointless as who does really do they're eyebrows in the dark?

BareMinerals Concealer & Foundation with Brushes

Both can be bought from Baremineral website - Concealer &  Foundation

Well isn't that great when you make a mistake on the picture by spelling brushes burshes.

The next things in my baremineral collection are the concealer and the foundation. I felt i needed new brushes to make sure they fitted in with the new make-up. However in the shop i didn't see the lady put them in so when i got home i was shocked to see how little they are, i thought that they were little travel sized brushes but with some research the re the full sized things. Lets call them Teenage Brushes to big to be little but too small to be normal sized.

I love the foundation which i got in medium beige for £25, it covers my faces lightly so none of that caked look can be seen. However when someone stays it has no smell it is it does. I don't like the smell, but don't get me wrong it doesn't smell horrible so i wont wear it, i just like something that has a bit of a nice summery type smell. I find it does the job but above my eyebrows and cheeks they are still a bit red (pink).

The concealer i bought in summer bisque which i got matched, it is £19. I find it covers dark circles naturally ( doesn't hide fully but who doesn't them) however i find it doesn't really help get ride of red bits around my nose and top of brows as well as a liquid one would. i would not say it was terrible through i would rate it 3/5 stars.

With the brushes i find you have to add more powder to the brushes to get the coverage you need, i am not sure if its the make-up or the brushes that cause this. I would prefer them also if the handle was bigger .

In other news i am currently trying to change the layout/template of the blog but it will take a few weeks as of  exams are these next 3 weeks.

The Ugly side of Beauty Introduction - Thyroid Diease Part 1 My Story

I have decided to introduce a new post that will post every Monday. It will have some relation to beauty, Fashion or life. Some may be more controversial then others but they want be very harsh to read e.g. no animal testing or fur related things - i know they are terrible but some readers are young or others don't like to read.

Well to start things off I am going to talk about something i have and is close to me (very close). this will also give you a insight to my life as well.

*This is my opinion of how i feel and what i went through. i am not trying to get attention just trying to help other people understand more of what people can go through and also if they should be checked*

Imagine walking up everyday for 3 years feeling like you had no sleep, don't want to do anything, putting weight on on top of been a teenage girl. This was me and still is in some ways.

I am 15 but before i knew what was happening i thought i was just extremely fat at around the age of 11/12 - my diet was not bad - healthy under 1,500 calories including about 2 cans of coke ( yes i know i had 2 cans of coke but i don't eat chocolate or crisps). i was at that stage were you felt ashamed about playing out - i did lack of exercise so i thought it was just my diet. At this age i started my first period however they were not monthly the next one was around the next year but even then then happened every 9 months. I was Slim for my age as i did cross country weekly training 3 days a week and swimming once a week but i was still fat in my eyes. (I still remember being 8 and thinking 6 stone was fat!)

Year 8 came, i lost friends and had very little confidence or self esteem but still thought i was some big Shrek thing - 9 stone. i started getting counselled and found it didn't help allot but a little it did (the girl was very nice). not much happen in year 9 just me becoming worse, however my dad went running everyday and i was forced into running two miles a day (evening if i was crying). after 2 months of this i called it enough after i weighed myself and put a extra stone on.

In year 10 it was the start of my gcse's. My attendance was becoming worse and worse however i still got the results i needed not failing any of my 10 exams i had. In the summer i was away in Turkey for 2 months however i was very tired during the days with having a nap after being up for a hour or just not going outside. when i did i swam a bit but where weight should of dropped a tiny bit however it increased by a whole stone - it was not my diet, i drank water and small salads with no crisps or sweet with the odd ice lolly.

I started year 11 weighing 14 stone and wearing size 20 clothing. my attendance was terrible due to the fact i always felt like i couldn't move. My dad was advised by my Nan who has Hypothyroidism to take me for blood test but i chose not to and decided to go on a diet drinking only water and eating plain salad and chicken - if my weight had not moved in 2 weeks i was to go an give blood, if that then came through i did not have anything i was to start running again.

Nothing changed so i looked up symptoms of the disease with me matching most of them. I asked my mums opinion of it saying she thinks i don't have it even when i matched the symptoms  Going to the doctors, i was told he did not think i had them even though i matched most of the symptoms and had a period every 6 months. I give blood then the next day i went to school but was told after 1 hour was told i was getting picked up i had to go to the hospital. my mum as scared as she thought i had something very bad as it was so quick, after 2 hours i was took to A&E.

On 17th December 2012 at the hospital i was told both of my T4 and T3 levels were extremely low meaning i had hypothyroidism (thyroid disease . I felt this was the best thing that had happen in so many years as i knew what was wrong. I was given 50mg tablets which gave me a artificial hormone that i lacked. Then last month i was moved to a higher dose of 75mg.

Even though i know what the problem is and i have something to resolve the issues i still have the issue of being fat, still feeling the same but not as much and the issues of i have not lose weight in my opinion  i still wake up feeling bad but some days are better then others - some days i feel great. 5 days of school makes me feel so terrible i cant cope with it sometimes. I still cant fit into clothes that i like or are at a reasonable price. The headache from friends saying about me not coming in. Learning about things i am more prone to and statics telling me the chances of things

I am still learning about what i have, i am still struggling with the disease  my weight, friends & family but also struggling to come to terms with it as i know i said it was the best thing that happen as it was but i wished none of this happen to me but some people feel the same as me but may be too scared of getting tested or are too unsure, however when i have children as some as they hit puberty they will be tested so that do not struggled like i have and still are.

Next week learn about what it is and the symptoms-

Soap and Glory the Righteous Body Butter

Can be bought from Boots for £10.50 300ml

Hello Pretties! when i buy cream (or butter) i don't normally wear it as i find what i don't like in it. Weird i know trying to first dislike it before loving it. I would find if i liked the smell, thickness, price and if it doesn't have any of those listed i would question its benefits of the usage.

With the cream it has the ever so famous 'soap & glory' smell (and if you don't know what that smell is, you must locked yourself away from boots). the sweet smell lasts for around 2 days on your skin which also tells you if your skin has the cream still absorbs - my theory.

i first got this in one of the Christmas gift bags that are pricey at around £50+ but then towards the last week on shopping for Christmas go for around £20 so i buy it then. however since i got m first one i just collect them by actually buying them ( the front looks like none has been used but that is my 'clean' tub for pretty pictures).

i use cream to get help with my stretch marks as the thickness of the cream is so creamy it is very moisturizing to my skin, adding to this i am not to sure if they are helped but i feel amazing wearing it.

The disadvantage to the cream is the price! but think of it this way 'creme de la mar' is priced at £200 and the body butter has loads of advantages but at £190 less. it may not target specific areas but what do you want for £10.50
